Goodbye waterpark

Well, its goodbye waterpark, until next year that is. We won't be going back until then :o( Today was a beautiful day and not to awful hot, but that really made the water feel cold, usually its like warm bathwater, but not today, you get in and feel like turning around and running back out! The boys really enjoyed themselves, as the park was not busy at all at 10am when we got there, so they were able to ride all the slides a number of times without a wait, which was nice, cuz sometimes when we go there is only enough time to ride one or two and then its time to go home! As you can see Ryan really doesn't mind getting a bit sandy and he is a great poser (love him posing for me in the inner tube!) But my fav pic of those two goofballs was them working together to get there tube to the top of like 5 flights of steps for the Purple Palooza ride, usually I carry it for them, but today when they asked if they could got up I told them "if you are big enough to carry your tube" and then I let them work out the logistics of it, and this is what they came up with! How funny, I wish you could have seen them going up the steps like that! Almost everyone in the park was laughing at them (but really I think they might have been laughing at them arguing about who was carrying the most!) I also wanted to share a fun layout I made this week from my most fav picture I got last time we went to the waterpark. Papers are from Cosmo cricket's snorkel line. I called it "THE WAVE" because as the journaling states, Jakob was not into his Mom taking a bunch of pictures of him, but I kept my camera out and ready for just the right shot and when he came up from under the water one time I called out his name and he waved at me, BEFORE he realized I had my camera. I love this shot, it turned out just how I wanted so I was then able to put up the camera and stop torturing the poor boy! Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Have a good one!

Friday's Featured Blogger

TGIF everyone! Aren't ya glad its Friday? We sure are in our house! It has been a busy week, starting a new school and getting back into a routine again...oh, the lazy days of summer seem to be gone, but wait...it's still 90+ degrees outside still warm enough for swimming and our fav waterpark! We plan on hitting the waterpark first thing tomorrow morning for a fun time and to cool off and blow off some steam, then my son is off to the Cowboys game with some good friends while I stay home and find something to do (How about scrapbook! LOL!) Today I wanted to share an awesome card blog I found recently with you. I have gotten away from making cards as much as I used to it seems but when I do I really want them to be quick, cute and simple! So when I found Jen's blog Simple and Sincere I was so excited! Her cards are just that, simple, cute and EZ peasy to make! So hop on over the her blog and check out all her lovely card candy! Here is one of my fav cards using the Stampin' Up set called Trendy Trees (which I plan to buy soon) I think it would make a great male or female card! And HERE is another one of my favs cards of Jen's and isn't that little gift bag just the cutest thing? LOVE IT...makes me want to get ready for Christmas right now! Have a Happy Happy Friday everyone!

Scenic Route goodness!

It's been a productive week for me, I was able to make another layout last night and get one half way started. This is one uses one of my favorite lines, Garden Grove by Scenic Route. I just love Scenic Route and wish they would have another new release soon. These papers and embellies were part of my AWESOME Personalscrapper August kit. This layout was created for the Listy List challenge for the online crop at Personalscrapper that ended yesterday. For it I had my son list his top 3 tunes that are on his MP3 player. This photo was taken at the Orlando Airport in June while we waited to board our plane home from vacation. Check back tomorrow for some awesome blogginess when we spotlight Friday's Featured Blogger over here at My Creative Endeavors!

All good things must come to an end..

Yes, it's true as much as we love summer it is coming to an end. I have switched back from my fall mode to a summer mode making some more pages with a summer theme. Here is a layout I forgot to post. I did this last week for sketch #32 over at 52 sketches. It is from last year, showing my DS, me, my neice and nephew and BIL on an end of summer walk last September. I used my BRAND NEW papers from GCD that I won on their blog a few weeks back and let me tell you they are super awesome, the colors are crisp, the texture is really nice (they kind of have a linen like texture to them) and they are super fun to work with. The line I won is called Sunny Days and it is perfect for summer layouts, pool layouts, or really any outdoors or even birthday theme! The journaling block is from Jillibean Soup and the chipboard is from Scenic Route. I am working on a few more layouts with a summer theme and hope to finish them up and photograph them tonight, the Personalscrapper crop has been extended another day so I am still working on challenges over there. Come join us if you want!

School's back in session!

School is officially back in session in our neck of the woods! My son is growing up fast, he officially is a Middle schooler as of today! He had an awesome first day at school and was even able to manage his locker without any technical difficulties (a great feat by any standard!) Here is a layout I did last night for sketch #33 of 52 sketches. This is my son taken right before he started kindergarten! As you will see from the photos of today he has really grown up. This layout was also inspired by one of the great challenges over at Personalscrapper for the online crop. We were to use something old and something new on our layout. I used these Pink Paislee papers and embellishments (fletching line) that I recently got for my new stuff and my something old is that printed twill and my photo all from about 6 yrs ago! Can you believe I saved that twill that long?! The crop at Personalscrapper is still going on through tomorrow so I hope to finish up a few more challenges before it ends, so check back soon, hope to have more to share soon

Six Degrees of Separation

Finally I can share my top secret creation with you. I participated in a really fun game over at the Personalscrapper message board hosted by Amy. During this game we were emailed a layout and given 3 days to scraplift it. We then emailed our lift back to Amy who sent it on to the next player. All in all the original layout was scraplifted SIX times! It was so fun to see what we started with and what we ended with! I was actually the first player to lift so I lifted Amy's layout directly. You can see her layout here. We were not allowed to post the layout until the game is complete so now that it is complete I can show off my Perfect Pick layout. Once again, I am doing a Fall layout...tells you what I am dreaming of huh? I used the November 2008 Personalscrapper kit featuring Crate Paper Lemongrass papers for this layout. I love that little birdie rub on! This is my son and brother at our fav pumpkin patch Valla's in Gretna, Nebraska. Looking forward to going back this fall! Have a great weekend everyone!

Friday's Featured Blogger

Summer continues to fly right on by. We are off to the waterpark tomorrow to celebrate the last remaining days of summer. We've been watching football and getting those school supplies all ready. Today we attended Middle School orientation..wow...the summer is almost gone. Now onto Friday's featured blogger. I was so excited when blog hopping yesterday I stumbled upon Wendy Smith's blog. She is from Australia and has some stunning layouts on her blog. The first thing that caught my eye was the attention to detail and all the clusters of embellishments she uses on her layouts. Plus, she has some AWESOME boy layouts and some of them even include flowers! And I am always on the look out for boy pages. Her layouts will give me lots of inpsiration for our upcoming online crop at Personalscrapper next week. I am hoping to get a lot done cropping with my online buddies and also cropping IRL with my scrappy girlfriends at the Scrapbooks on the Go All Day Crop Event next weekend, there are still spots left so go here to register! Hope to see you at one of these fun crops! Have an awesome Friday everyone!

Dreaming of Fall!

Are you ready for Fall yet? I hate to say it but I am. I am tired of the heat, and I am ready to stop mowing the grass! LOL! I can't wait to decorate my house with Fall themed things once again, watch some football, decorate pumpkins, visit the pumpkin patch, yes, I'm ready for fall! So when I started work on this weeks sketch over at 52 sketches I was in a Fall mood. I remembered a picture I had taken last Fall after I finished decorating my entryway and after much searching finally located it and this layout was born. Using sketch #31 it uses Fancy Pants Kraft and All Fall papers as well as Creative Imaginations letters and 7 gypsies stickers for embellishments. I really like the way it turned out. The flowers I had cut from a scrap of Pink Paislee Spring Fling paper and they ended up working well here. I am still busily working on organizing for the August 22nd crop I am attending, my goal folks is 12 layouts...that's a layout an hour...any bets, ya think I can do it? If so it would be a Lisa record. LOL! I am hoping to get to work on this awesome sketch this week if so that would make two layouts this week, as I like to try and do the 52 sketches sketch each week as well...but something about the Creative Scrappers sketch really caught my eye. Well gotta run, hi ho hi ho, it's off to mow I go! Now do you see why I am missing Fall?!!!

Friday's Featured Blogger

TGIF! Today's featured blogger I have followed for a long while. I LOVE the simplicity of her designs in both cards and layouts. Lately I have really enjoyed seeing the layouts she has designed for Jillibean Soup. Laura's layouts always brilliantly focus you on the pictures not the product. Her style is also fun and playful. Here is a great Christmas layout, one of the first layouts I just fell in love with of Laura's. Here is one of my fav Jillibean soup layouts she has done. And some AWESOME cards using Jillibean soup supplies. And what about THIS layout using some new Adornit products! I am sure you will want to keep coming back to Laura's blog to check out all here latest inspiration! Enjoy!

Happy Happy Monday!

I can't believe it is already Monday again! I did a bunch of scrapping this weekend, but I only have one layout to show you....why you ask? Well, it is top secret my friends...now those of you who know me know that I stink at keeping a secret so if you call me up and twist my arm a bit I might let the cat out of the bag, but in the meanwhile, lets just say I will share it when the higher ups allow me to..how's that for spy talk?! This layout was inpsired by one of my fav bloggers, Wendi, I saw a layout she did that had these cute little surfboards all cut out and I decided I had to do it to...so this layout is a lift on her Ocean lover layout! I just love being inspired by little things like that. This page uses a journaling block from Fancy Pants' summer soiree line and papers and embellishments from Scenic Route's Grafton line (which is one sale at the Scenic Route store if you missed out on this great line!) This is my son on our June vacation this year in Cocoa Beach. He is just looking so grown up don't ya think? I still have a wee bit of this paper left and I am sure gonna miss it when its gone! Have you ever felt that way about paper????? I know strange huh? I have lots to do at work this week so doubt I will scrap much, plus, my son is hosting a sleepover with a few friends this weekend, so gotta prepare for that, but hey, it will give me scrappin' time while they are gaming it up! I am also preparing for an all day crop event I will be attending on August 22nd, I am super excited about this and hope by being organized I can actually get a lot done! LOL! That's what I tell myself anyway! So if you are in the Fort Worth area and want to come crop with us go here and register, I would love to crop with you...the more the merrier! Hope to see you there!
