Sketch and Scrap's First Reveal!

Good evening!  Hope your Monday was awesome!  I am so excited to share with you the first sketch reveal at Sketch and Scrap!  I hope you will be able to play along with us!  I am sponsoring a very summery and fun prize for our first month at Sketch and Scrap!  To be eligible to win, all you need to do is play along with at least one sketch challenge this month and you will be entered into the drawing for the prize...the more week's you participate the more chances you will have to win, plus the more scrapping you will get done!  A win win right?  You have until this Friday to link up your entry for this week's sketch on the Sketch and Scrap blog.  For my layout using this sketch I used a combination of papers that I had in my stash, the yellow background is from My Mind's Eye, the blue/green very slight pattern is from KI Memories (its really old), the dark pink heart paper is from We R Memory Keepers, the light pink flower paper is by Echo Park and the border strip is from Fancy Pants' BE YOU line featured in the April Personalscrapper kit.  I used glitter Thickers for my title and then made my button flower with a circle punched from felt and black cardstock cut with my scallop circle punch, add a button and there you have a fun big flower handmade embellishment!  These pictures were taken at the Mall where my niece an I spent a fun girl's night out while her brother was having his birthday party and a sleep over a few weeks back...we got to have our own "girls" sleep over!  We had a blast as you can see, of course, her kitties were invited to the girls night out, because as she informed me "they are girls too!"  I am so excited to see you intrepretation of my sketch!  Have fun with it and see you at the Sketch and Scrap blog!

Summer Lovin'

Just wanted to share a fun layout I created in my Got Sketch 107 class.  This layout is inspired by a sketch from the class by Valerie Salmon.  The class is now over, but you can still purchase the download from the class and I will tell you it is worth every dollar!  Lots of tips, lots of techniques and of course, the sketches are AWESOME!  Just visit Valerie's blog and see for yourself, I really can't say enough about Valerie, she is gracious, kind, and of course, uber talented!  I also created this layout for week 16 of our 52 week challenges over at Personalscrapper.  The challenge was to mix papers from at least 2 different kits on your layout.  I used the July 2009 and July 2011 kits.  All papers are from Fancy Pants both the Summer Soiree line and the Beach Bum line, as featured in the July 2009 and July 2011 Personalscrapper kits.  I have just a few scraps left of the July 2009 kit, so I was glad to go ahead and combine them with my July 2011 kit and see that they will coordinate just fine.  The summer accent is from Jilliebean Soup's Watermelon Gazapacho line.  I couldn't find any letters that I liked for my title, plus I couldn't think of a fitting title and this cut out was a great fit for this picture.(Not to mention in doing so I save a bunch of time...titles are hard to think of sometimes!)  I hope you will join me again on Monday April 30th back here OR at Jewels blog as we launch our new sketch challenge Sketch 'n Scrap!  Hope you can play along!  Have a great weekend everyone!

DC at Night

Any ready for a vacation? I'm planning and counting down to our Summer vacation! I decided I better get some of our last vacation pics scrapped before we take off on another one, so during the March Let's Lift It challenge last month at My Scraps and More I was able to get this layout done. It is a lift of Becky Williams layout called We Love Your Sweet Face. YOu can view Becky's blog HERE, I'm sure you will find something else to lift there, she has some awesome layouts! These pictures were taken during our night tour of the DC monuments. It was such a great tour, I loved seeing all the monuments and sights lit up at night! I used the Simple Stories Destinations line for this layout. I had bought it especially for this trip and really like how the colors made my pictures pop! I just love Simple Stories don't you? This was also my first attempt at making my own flag, and really it was very easy. It was a technique I learned in my Got Sketch 107 class and I found it really adds to your layout. Speaking of Got Sketch 107, this was the last week for it, and I still have "homework" to do, so that I can complete all the assignments before the class officially ends on Sunday! I am hoping I can get my "homework" done on Saturday. Now this type of homework is sure better then any homework I had as a teen! LOL! Have a fun and scrappy weekend everyone, check back on Monday because I have some exciting news to share with you! You won't want to miss it!
