Family Time

Another fun week over at Sketch N Scrap!  I hope you all like this pretty straight forward and simple sketch!  I know I loved using it, it made my layout go together so fast! It only took me about 30 minutes to put this one together, it's those layouts that are almost too easy!  I still like the results though!

Supplies Used:  We R Memory Keepers Anthologie line; Carstock: Forest Foliage by Stampin Up;
Butterfly: American Crafts Details; Flower by Prima, Punch by Stampin Up;  Pebbles Candy Dots

These photos were taken on my son's confirmation day at Applebees where we went for lunch after the service. This is my son with me, with my mom and his cousin.  We had a great time, my son's favorite restaurant is Applebees.  This layout was made using my May Personalscrapper kit.  I just loved this line, I hadn't even dreamed of buying it when I first saw it on the We R Memory Keepers website, I thought it was too pastel for me, but as it turns out I am so glad it was in our kit, as that is one fun thing, getting papers etc you may not have chosen for yourself and finding out when you use them, you really like the results! Don't forget to check out what the other DT members did with this week's sketch, you will love the varied results!  So fun to see one sketch produce such varied layouts!  And if you haven't had time to look at the prize for June you had better hurry on over!  Personalscrapper is this month's sponsor and they have donated an awesome prize pack for one lucky winner! You have until Saturday at midnight to link up for June's prize draw! Can you believe June is almost over?  I can't!  So many fun things going on at Sketch N Scrap this summer! Enjoy your week!

I am so excited that we have an awesome June sponsor over at Sketch N Scrap ~ Personalscrapper is a great kit club that is celebrating a big milestone this June.  They are celebrating their 100th kit this month! Wow!  No other kit club has made it to 100 kits!  A big congrats to Erica and her team, they put out a wonderful kit each month.  I have been the lucky recipient of the kits every month since 2007 and I have enjoyed EACH ONE!  To celebrate Personalscrapper is having daily challenges in June, an online and IRL crop starting June 23rd (visit the Personalscrapper forums for the online crop or more details on the IRL crop), and each kit recipient is getting a goody bag in their kit (I got mine and all I can say is WOW! Tons of goodies!).  Sketch N Scrap has teamed up with Personalscrapper by providing them with an exclusive sketch to celebrate their 100th kit.  You can see what the DT at Sketch N Scrap did with this sketch HERE.  My layout features last year's May Personalscrapper kit papers by Basic Grey.  This is my nephew on his second birthday last January opening some of his gifts.  Here is the prize up for grabs at Sketch N Scrap this month:

Come play along with us this week, you have a chance to get your name in the random draw TWO TIMES this week, one by completing the regular weekly challenge HERE and two by completing a layout based on the 100th kit celebraion sketch above!  Plus you can also enter the sketch daily challenge at the Personalscrapper Forum to be eligible for their prize giveaway!  PLUS Erica is offering anyone who signs up for a kit in June an extra bag of goodies if you mention Sketch N Scrap when you sign up!  Can you say scrappy goodness and prizes? Its enough to motivate anyone to get scrapping!  I know that is my plan for this weekend!  I hope to see you around cyberspace this week, if not at Sketch N Scrap then HERE at Personalscrapper!  Cheers friends!

Welcome to another fun week at Sketch N Scrap!  So happy you are here and hope you will get some time this week to play along with us!  I designed this sketch to get these two pictures of my son scrapped ~ FINALLY!  They are from October 2010 and I just really liked them, so much so that they have sat on my desk for almost two years waiting to be scrapped!  Do you do that?  Wait to scrap your extra special pics because you can't think of a good enough idea OR find special enough papers/embellishments?  I HOPE I'm not the only one who does this!  Please tell me I'm not?!!!  I really liked the neutrals in this line, thought it was great for boy pages and just HAD to have it! Echo Park is one of my fav manufactureres anymore!  I bought this line and the This and That line at the GASC convention a few weeks ago and had to put my papers right to use!  I hope you will hop over to the Sketch N Scrap blog and check out the DT's layouts, they are great!  Heather's is so pretty and elegant, a real treat, and you won't want to miss how Kelly flipped the sketch just in case your pictures are oriented different you can still use the sketch!  Have fun and don't forget to link it up so we can see your lovely creations!  We are going to have something extra special later in the week for you, so keep checking the blog....we are scrapping up a storm over at Sketch N Scrap this summer!

Wow is time flying by?  We have only been out of school two weeks and already I've done 3 layouts and been on a week's vacation!  Before you know it, it'll be Christmas! lol!  Maybe I'm just dreaming of cooler weather, we are at 89% humidity and going to hit 100 plus today! YIKES!  So not ready for the heat!  Here is our next sketch, for this week's Sketch N Scrap challenge and my example.  This photo is of my nephew and son Easter Sunday 2011.  Unbeknownst to my sister and myself we bought the boys the same outfit at Old Navy for them to wear on Easter Sunday.  Imagine the chuckles when they both showed up at church dressed alike! Although I will say my teenage son didn't think it was all the funny! lol!  Don't forget to go check out what the other DT members did with the sketch, some awesome layouts this week!  We had such fun last week, hope you will find time to play this week!  Remember you are entered into our mothly random drawing ONCE for each layout you complete!  We are so excited about our awesome sponsor for June: Personalscrapper!  I love seeing your layouts, they inspire me to keep creating more sketches!  Leave me a comment to let me know what type of sketches you would like to see more of, as I am working on next month's sketches this week.  Do you like single photo sketches, multi photo etc, I love suggestions!  I'll do my best to keep 'em coming!

Summer Vacation

We had an awesome time on our summer vacation this year!  We started out by flying to Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, where we enjoyed some great cheesesteaks, got drenched on our nighttime Ghost Tour (I think the rain scared away the ghosts), walked a lot, rocked out at the Hard Rock Cafe, walked alot, took in some history, signed a copy of the Constitution, walked some more, and visited some awesome museums.  Then it was off to Gettysburg for some more history lessons.  We took a Battlefield tour, did another ghost tour (a dry one this time) , visited a haunted house, visited Eisenhower's home (we didn't even know he lived in Gettysburg!  The bottom pic is in Dwight's backyard), and saw a lot of monuments!  Then we left for Valley Forge where we saw some more beautiful scenery, met up with a pretty little doe who let us take her picture, visited Washington's headquarters, the Washington Memorial Chapel and then enjoyed one last Cheesesteak before hopping our flight home!  All in all we are exhausted and  glad to be home after having  a wonderful time!  Now the fun of scrapping my memories begins!  YEAH!  Hope you get some scrappy time this week!

Sketch N Scrap #6

Welcome to another fun week of sketches at Sketch N Scrap!  This week's sketch features three photos.  I used photos of my nephew's new swingset that his Daddy built him.  This is another layout for his album.  What a fun memory, your first swingset.  Mine was metal and a bit more simple then his, but times have changed!  For this layout I used all papers and embellishments from the Crate Paper Toy Box line.  I love this line, and really found it perfect for my photos!  Red letter stickers are Thickers (vinyl) and the smaller stickers are from  a Simple Stories sheet I had lying on my desk.  I didn't buy this Simple Stories line, can't remember the name, but I did buy the sticker letters as they looked like they would go with about anything (and I was right!).  I also used my star punch and my square scallop punches both by Stampin Up on this layout.  I hope you will get a chance to play along with us this week.  We have an awesome prize sponsor this month~ PERSONALSCRAPPER!  Erica at Personalscrapper is celebrating the whole month of June with a daily challenge to celebrate her 100th kit!  Personalscrapper is the first monthly kit club to hit this milestone!  Exciting right?  You won't want to miss out on this celebration, you don't have to be a kit club member to join in the fun, so check it out!  Those of you who follow my blog know I am a huge fan of Personascrapper, so join me on the message boards at Personalscrapper and at Sketch N Scrap this month as we get our scrap on and get some layouts completed!  See you there!
