His No.1 Fan!

Good morning!  I hope everyone is enjoying our fun filled Favorite Things blog hop!  Today I wanted to  share with you some more scrappy inspiration using the Elle's Studio Love You More collection pack:
I loved this picture I snapped on my cell phone of my son and my niece while at Fuddruckers celebrating her 6th birthday, but I was having a hard time coming up with a fun title for my layout.  I was looking at all the little cut out blocks on one of the papers when I saw the "No.1" and then the title came to me....No. #1 Fan!!!  Because this little gal is for sure my son's No. 1 fan! I decided to "fancy" up the title a bit by using a chevron envelope I received a gift card in on my birthday:
I mounted the No.1 cut out on a piece of pink paper included in the collection and then used another cut out for my "tag" to come out of the envelope, I included journaling inside the envelope by adding a piece of white cardstock under the "I think you are perfect" cut out and journaling my thoughts on it. I used a Studio Calico wood veneer heart to act as a sort of pull tab for my hidden journaling.  This collection is so versatile and the two cut out sheets are perfect embellishments to dress up your layouts in a fun yet inexpensive way!  If you are like me and can't cut a perfectly straight, here is a little tip...ink the edges of all your cut outs and the ink blurs any imperfections in your cutting technique!  Enjoy your weekend and have fun on the Frosted Designs Favorite Things Blog Hop!  Did you know that ALL Elle's Studio is on sale at the Frosted Designs store from now until Monday????  What a deal, you will not regret buying any of the Elle's Studio collection packs!  To get your 30% discount, just enter code PL30 at checkout!  To visit the store go HERE!

Frosted Designs Favorite Things Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends and welcome to the Frosted Designs "Favorite Things" Blog Hop!!! As most of you know, March is National Craft Month!!!  What better way to celebrate our favorite time of year than with a "favorite things" blog hop?!?  We are so excited about all the fabulous items in store that we wanted to share with you how we use them on our projects!  Our Design Team has put together some AMAZING projects just for your viewing pleasure :-)

If you've arrived here from Joni's blog, then you're in the right place!  If not, please start the hop at the Frosted Designs Blog here!
As you hop along, be sure to visit each Design Team Member's blog for wonderful inspiration and creative ideas on how we use our favorite products!!! While you're there, be sure to leave them some love!!!  Each member will have a "scrambled" word in their post... (*HINT* The word will be a Frosted Designs Product!!!).   Unscramble each one from the line-up below and send them to Brandimatos@gmail.com!   After you've completed your "hopping", come back to the Frosted Designs blog and tell us how much fun you had!!
I had a hard time deciding on what my "favorite thing" was from the Frosted Designs store, after all there are SOOO many awesome goodies to choose from!  But finally I settled on washi tape!!  I have TONS of washi tape and had not been really using it but more like accumulating  hoarding it!  So I decided to put my wonderful Trendy Tapes from the Frosted Designs store to good use!  Here are a few things I came up with:
Use your washi tape to decorate your embellishment storage!  I keep all my buttons and bling by color in these handy containers but I have to pull them out to see what color is what, not anymore! Now I can tell what color is in each container based on the color of washi tape around the container!

Use washi tape to decorate containers for small gifts!  Here is an extra embellishment container filled with swap items for a special friend!  To make the heart on the top of the container I placed strips of washi tape side by side on cardstock then punched it out with my heart punch.

Here is a plain jane metal container that I decorated for another scrappy friend! Inside a bunch of handmade envelopes, flowers and a gift card to her favorite scrapbook store!  And she can use the container later for storing her embellishments.

Use washi tape on your cards in place of paper!

Now, what would a blog hop be without some AWESOME prizes?!?  By sending in your "unscrambled FD products to Brandimatos@gmail.com, you will be entered into a drawing for the following prizes:
Creative Embellishments is offering a $20.00 Gift Certificate to their store full of detailed chipboard pieces and rubber stamps!!!

Up for grabs is a $20 gift certificate to Scrapooks.com!!!!  Just think of all the washi tape you could buy! Inspired by Challenge #3

It was my turn to create the Inspired by sketch for Sketch N Scrap's Inspired by challenge this month. Here is my sketch:

For those new to this challenge, each month we take a layout that "inspired" us and create a sketch based on this layout.  This month's layout that inspired me to create the above sketch was by DT member Lissa Mitchell.  Here is her lovely layout:

And here is my layout based on the sketch:
Supplies Used:  Patterned Paper: We R Memory Keepers, Dream Street Papers, Webster's
Pages Recorded; alphas: Simple Stories & American Crafts Thickers; stickers: Simple Stories;
button: Recollections; journaling blocks: Making Memories, Jenni Bowlin & Evalicious;
washi tape : Queen & Company

I just love this picture of my nephew and my brother at the pumpkin patch last year!  Isn't he the cutest in that cowboy hat????  I also adore how the DT took this sketch and made it their own, if you go HERE you can check out all the wonderful work the DT did with this sketch and see how different each and every layout is! I hope you will be inspired enough to play along with us for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Scrapbooks.com donated by DT member Monique!  Check out the details at Sketch N Scrap and have a WONDERFUL week!

My First Counterfeit Kit ~ Spring Smiles

I have been enamored of the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog for quite some time but have never taken the time to play along, but this month I decided I had WAY to many papers from misc lines that needed to be paired up in a kit.  After all, what is a girl to do with just one or two lonesome papers from an ENTIRE scrapbook collection....well, I'm certainly NOT going to toss them so I needed to put them to use...and what better way then to make a kit out of these poor orphans!  This month they are counterfeiting this lovely February kit from Cocoa Daisy:

Here is my counterfeit kit:
I have papers from Echo Park Happy Days, All About A Boy, Here & Now, Bundle of Joy, Sweet Girl, For the Record 2, My Mind's Eye Kate & Co, Cut and Paste and American Crafts Amy Tangerine Ready, Set, Go.  What a mix huh? Here are just the papers closer up:
I got almost ALL of these papers at the Scrapbook Expo in Grapevine TX a few weeks back.  One booth had papers for 10 cents a sheet and I dug through with my scrappy buddy Kelly and picked out about 50 papers! Kind of funny they coordinated well enough to make a kit! I ended up adding in more papers then the Cocoa Daisy kit because I liked them all and couldn't cut any, so I figured why not make it a "deluxe kit"!   For embellishments I have : letter stickers (Thickers and Paper Trunk alphas); wooden buttons, resin flowers from Maya Road and from one of my fav shops: Skyline Paperie, wood veneers from Elle's Studio and Studio Calico,  flairs from A Flair for Buttons, cut outs from Elle's Studio, We R Memory Keepers and the Skyline Paperie shop, washi tape from MME, Stampin' Up, Bella Blvd and Recollections, and chipboard from MME.  I decided to name my kit Spring Smiles because when I see this kit I think of Spring! I am normally a earth tone kind of gal so this is a little different then my norm, but I am lovely this fun color palette! Now if I could just fall back and gain an extra hour tomorrow instead of losing an hour so that I could find time to squeeze in some crafty time to play with my new kit!  I hope you will find time to create your own Counterfeit Kit this month!  Stay tune...projects to follow!
