Throwback Thursday challenge #4 ~ Sketch N Scrap

Have you been enjoying the Throwback Thursday challenges at Sketch N Scrap?  I sure have, it is fun to go back and use a sketch a second time and see how it inspires you on that go round!  Our hostess for today is Katty, and she is challenging us to use this fun sketch from August 2014 by Kelly

And here is my take on this awesome sketch:

Supplies Used: Card stock: Stampin Up; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories, Echo Park, and Stampin Up; letter
stickers: Paper Trunk & Thickers; stickers: Echo Park (banner); punches: Stampin Up; butterflies: Jillibean Soup;
Die: Stampin Up (butterfly); pearls: Kaiser Crafts: enamel dots: Teresa Collins

This is a picture of my dear friends not so little anymore guy, taken way back in 2003!!!  I came across these pictures while organizing and knew they would be perfect for this sketch! What fun memories, as he is longer a sweet little guy but instead a sweet big guy, soon to be driving!!! Wow, time flies!  I also had fun mixing a bunch of different miscellaneous papers from different manufacturers, many that are almost as old of these pictures lol!  The only thing that was a bummer was that I had a hard time finding letter stickers to make my title!  Seems I have TONS of letter stickers but no really full sets so making a title can be kind of stressful anymore, guess I better start stalking the alphabet sticker sales soon!  I hope you will hop on over to Sketch N Scrap to see all the amazing creations the other DT members have come up with!  We have a great prize up for grabs this month so make sure and play along!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Card sketch #70

March is whizzing by, Spring has sprung in Texas, hope it is nearby where you are as well!  Here is our last card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap:

And here are the two cards I created using this sketch:

Supplies Used: Card stock: Stampin' Up; Patterned paper: Stampin' Up' butterfly punch: Martha
Stewart; Notebook edge punch: Stampin' Up; pearls: Queen & Co; Ink & stamps: Stampin' Up

I needed to beef up my stash of cards and this was a really easy sketch to use!  All the patterned papers I used are scraps that a friend was going to toss out, I was thrilled to be able to make 3 cards out of the scraps (one card is the exact same as the first one so it is not pictured)!!!  I also punched a bunch of butterflies out of the remaining very small scraps so you may be seeing them on another project soon!  There is still plenty of time to play along with the sketch and the others at Sketch N Scrap, make sure and hop on over to see what our amazing DT created with this sketch and find out how you can play along, we have NINE challenges going on this month as we celebrate our 100th sketch debut, you won't want to miss it!  Happy creating friends!

This was one of my favorite times spent with my son.  We went with his Cub Scout group on a hike at Dinosaur Valley State Park.  It was July and pretty hot, but we were able to cool off in the river, see the AMAZING dinosaur footprints and enjoy some gorgeous scenery!  I've always said we need to go back but that was 12 years ago and we still haven't went back!  Gosh, time flies.  I am sure the bluebonnets are starting to bloom now, might be just the excuse to go visit again soon!  If you have never been I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed!   I hope you will join us every Thursday for Throwback Thursday at Sketch N Scrap!  Don't forget to hop over and see the other amazing layouts the DT created inspired by this fun sketch!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Sketch N Scrap #100

I am so excited to share our March 1st sketch with you today!!!  Today's sketch is our 100th sketch at Sketch N Scrap!  Wow!  100 layout sketches, hard to imagine!  I would never have thought it possible on the that day almost 4 years ago when I designed our 1st ever sketch!  I am so blessed to work with such amazing and crazy talented sketch artists at Sketch N Scrap!
Here is my sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

Supplies Used:  Cardstock: Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Bowties; letter stickers:
Basic Grey; stickers: Basic Grey Bowties; punches: star by McGill & large star by Paper Shapers

I am so sad to see that Basic Grey is no longer going to be making a paper line!!  This inspired me to dig into my Basic Grey stash for this layout!  I love these colors and have to say this is one of my favorite lines of theirs.  This is my son back in 1st grade, his car won first place at the Derby!!  It was very exciting!  What a great memory to capture!  My journaling is on the back but if you don't use such big letters you could certainly fit it under your title...I just couldn't resist using these cute letters!  Make sure and hop on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see what the other DT members did with the sketch, there is TONS of inspiration and I know it will inspire you to play along for a chance to win our awesome prize for March, plus we have some other surprises up our sleeve....in honor of our 100th sketch debut we are having NINE challenges for you this month, you won't want to miss it, inspiration galore!!!  Happy creating!
